R -- Research Associate / Postdoctoral Fellow, Anesthesiology

Applications are requested for a position as a Research Associate/Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of the USUHS, Department of Anesthesiology. The candidate will work in the area of hemorrhagic shock and permissive hypotension as influenced by metabolic antioxidants, complement and oxyradicals in the rat. Special skills and experience in hemorrhagic shock and computer-assisted resuscitation under the conditions of permissive hypotension are desirable. Required specific duties are as follows: 1) Prepare rats (anesthetize, instrument arterial and venous access) and execute hemorrhagic shock studies according to protocol 2) Take biological samples: Heart, liver, blood and other organs as needed for measurements of molecular and free radical measurements 3) Collect hemodynamic and systemic electrolyte and redox state data. Analyze and tabulate data in spreadsheets and graphs. Write preliminary reports 4)Compensation will be according to hours actually worked.
