R--Special Notice-SAVAHCS intends to solicit from a single source, The University of Arizona, for Veterinary Services

The Southwest Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) intends to solicit from a single source, The University of Arizona for purchases not exceeding the Simplified Acquisition Threshold in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b) The acquisition will be accomplished using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13 for Specialized Veterinary Services. Specialized Veterinary Services must be performed by organizations certified with the Associate for Assessment, Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) and be able to respond to SAVAHCS within 60 minutes from notification. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 541940 and the size standard is $7.5 million. Any firms who wish to identify their interests and capability to provide this service must provide proof of accreditation with AAALAC and be able to respond to emergencies within s60 minutes from notification in the United States no later than 12:00 PM local Arizona time, September 3, 2015. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. Responses received will be evaluated, however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System will proceed with the sole source negotiation with University of Arizona. This notice is not request for competitive proposals or quotes.
