67--CCTV CAMERA ASSEMBLIES

NASA/KSC has a requirement for eight (8) each close circuit TV cameras with digital transmission requirements that will be integrated into the KSC Electronic Security System (ESS) - Access Control. NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from West Video, 5405 NW 102nd Ave., Suite 231, Sunrise FL 33351, a small business, through the authority of FAR 6.302-1 "only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements". Western Video is the only known firm that has designed a camera system (has proprietary rights) that meets all the requirements of the KSC ESS. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing by mail, fax or e-mail to Marco Pochy not later than 3:00 p.m. EST on March 12, 2004. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
