**********SEND ALL INFORMATION AND CORRESPONDENCE INCLUDING TECHNICAL QUESTIONS IN WRITING TO CHARLIE HOLT AT [email protected]; OR FAX: (256)961-9604********** NASA/MSFC has a requirement for the Removal of a Friction Stir Weld (FSW) weld head from a Robotic Weld Tool (RWT) and install a replacement weld head and; Repair FSW weld head initially removed. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from PAR Systems, Inc. on a sole source basis. The replacement FSW RWT weld head has interface cables and ancillary hardware that are either proprietary to PAR Systems or specifically designed and engineered to integrate into the PAR weld system. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to [email protected] no later than 7:00 a.m. CST on September 9, 2013. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
