CDC-Mexico Cooperative Agreement for Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Laboratory Capacity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to establish a cooperative agreement with the George E. Brown Foundation for U.S.-Mexico Collaborations in Sciences (FUMEC) as part of the CDC strategy to address emerging infectious diseases of public health importance to both countries. FUMEC has served as the intermediary with the Ministry of Health in Mexico under cooperative agreement, CK11-1106, with efficiency, transparency, and accountability. Supporting the strategies to reduce disease in Mexico will allow CDC to further its global public health programs in a coordinated effort with public health governmental institutions in Mexico and academic partners in Mexico. This FOA aims to conduct complementary activities to reach CDC-specific goals and objectives related to US-Mexico bi-national health through the prevention and control of infectious diseases that are public health threats and the strengthening of key public health services.
