Description

This synopsis is hereby issued in accordance with FAR Part 5.203 in response to the mandatory requirement for a 3-day notification. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to LGC Clinical Diagnostics, Inc., 37 Birch St. Milford, MA 01757, for laboratory work leverages on the HIV diagnostic platform to address two things, co-infections that could interfere with diagnosis and detection of recent infection, and screening of Mother to Child infections at no additional cost. These samples will be used for HIV multiplex assay development, acute multiplex assay development, and new rapid test for recent infection (RTRI) test validation and development. Diagnostic assays that can simultaneously determine the presence of infection with multiple pathogens are key for diagnosis and surveillance. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 325414, with a size standard of 550 employees. This contract action is for samples for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. All quotations/responses received by the deadline specified in this notice, in accordance with FAR 5.203, will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
