Install OHV Barrier- Upper San Diego River and Black Mountain Unauthorized Route Rehabilitation

The purpose of this contract is to rehabilitate and block access to unauthorized routes and restore previously disturbed areas to a more natural state. This will be accomplished by: a) Installing a single (1) removable pipe barrier gate and 540 linear feet of pipe rail barrier at 8 locations on the Palomar Ranger District. b) Utilizing a tracked excavator and a small dozer to “rip”, recontour, and restore drainage functions to approximately 5.0 miles of old roads. This work includes 17 different locations on the Palomar Ranger District. Project Location The project is located within four general areas of the Palomar Ranger District, including Eagle Peak Road and Boulder Creek Road approximately 6.0 miles southwest of the town of Julian, and Black Mountain and Pine Mountain areas which are located approximately 6 and 12 miles north of the town of Ramona. The work sites are located within the Cleveland National Forest in Central San Diego County. Project work entails the placement of barriers/gate at 8 separate locations, and rehabilitation of 17 separate road sections within the Palomar District.
