Z -- Smoke/Exhaust Ductwork Replacement at the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners

This is the second of two planned announcements for this acquisition. The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, located at Kansas City, Kansas intends to issue a solicitation with a requirement to replace an exterior rooftop-mounted exhaust system, at a Federal Prison known as the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners (USMCFP), located at Springfield, Missouri. This construction contract consists of replacing the exterior ductwork and sealing the roof at mounting points and all penetrations of the rooftop-mounted ductwork. The building has six separately-tiered roofs, each with ductwork requiring replacement; and roof-repairs at all penetrations. The magnitude of construction is between $100,000 and $250,000. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS 2002) code applicable to this notice is 238220, with a size standard of $13.0 million. This solicitation is 100% set aside for small business. Bid, performance and payment-bonds will be required. The government intends to issue this solicitation and any amendments through the Federal Technical Data Solutions (FedTeDS) website (https://www.fedteds.gov.). All offerors are required to check this website daily to be notified of any changes to this solicitation. Posting of the solicitation is projected to be on or about July 16, 2007, with a projected bid due-date of August 17, 2007. These dates are subject to change. Security investigations and subsequent clearances issued by the Federal Bureau of Prisons will be required for all staff who perform any contract activity on the property of USMCFP Springfield.
